I’ve been looking at this painting a lot lately. Once everyday? Maybe multiple times on somedays? Okay fine, I’ve probably made it my lock screen wallpaper.

I have absolutely no context whatsoever about this painting. Is it by a famous artist? A random teenager on the internet? Is that a train window? Is he sitting on a seat or slumped against the wall on the floor? Is it even a boy? I want to think he is.

But there’s something very inexplicably satisfying about the way his head is resting against the window pane. Like a feather? His eyes aren’t seen, but I’m absolutely certain that they’re they’re sparkling green. Emerald green.

The white strip visible from the window presumably depicts the sky, but i like to think of it as water. Why? I don’t know, maybe because I can?

Also, deeply convinced of the fact that the view is prettier from that very specific (25°?) angle he is watching it from. Don’t ask why.

So basically, I’m not saying I’m unreasonably obsessed with this painting, but if I had to chart out my personal Maslow's need hierarchy pyramid — being in this boy’s shoes (if he’s wearing any), in this very specific moment, would be ‘sitting’ right on top in that small little triangle :)
